and Special Sacramental Preparation (SSP)

ORDER OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR CHILDREN (OCIC)

OCIA for Children (OCIC) is a formation process for youth ages 8 through 17 who have not yet been baptized, or have been baptized in another Christian tradition and are now seeking formal entry into the Catholic Church.  RCIC prepares children for the following sacraments:  Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.

*Only a baptized person may receive the Sacrament of Penance.  Therefore, those students receiving Baptism at Easter will celebrate their First Penance as a group at a later date.

SPECIAL SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION (SSP)

Special Sacramental Preparation (SSP) is offered for those youth ages 8 through 17 who have been baptized in the Catholic faith, but have not yet received First Reconciliation and First Communion.  Catechesis is aimed toward preparation for both of these sacraments, as well as a thorough formation in the Catholic faith.
